Usage and Dosage

Side Effects

Common side effects: nausea, constipation, diarrhea, etc.

Serious side effects: pancreatitis, hypoglycemia, allergic reactions, etc.

Use in Specific Populations

Pregnancy: There are no adequate and well-controlled studies on the use of Orforglipron during pregnancy.

Lactation: There are no data on the presence of Orforglipron or its metabolites in human milk, the effects on a breastfed infant, or the effects on milk production.

Daily Precautions

1. In rodent studies, drugs with a mechanism similar to Orforglipron induced thyroid C-cell tumors. It is unknown whether this finding poses a risk to humans. Advise patients to immediately inform their healthcare provider if they experience symptoms associated with thyroid tumors (e.g., a neck mass, persistent hoarseness, dysphagia, or dyspnea).

2. There is a potential risk of acute pancreatitis and corresponding symptoms: severe abdominal pain that may radiate to the back, with or without nausea and vomiting. Instruct patients to stop taking Orforglipron immediately and contact their healthcare provider if pancreatitis is suspected.

3. This medication may cause serious gastrointestinal adverse reactions. If severe or persistent gastrointestinal discomfort occurs, patients should contact their healthcare provider promptly.
