Indications of Mirdametinib

Mirdametinib is a prescription medicine indicated for adult patients and children aged 2 years and older with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) who have symptomatic plexiform neurofibromas (PN) that cannot be completely removed by surgery.

The safety and efficacy of mirdametinib in children under 2 years of age have not been established.

Mirdametinib is a MEK inhibitor classified as targeted therapy, rather than conventional chemotherapy. Its mechanism of action involves blocking specific signaling pathways in the body that drive the growth of plexiform neurofibromas.
