LuciTir(Tirzepatide) is a dual agonist of glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) receptor and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor. It can be used as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus, and it also helps with glycemic control and durable weight loss in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus and obesity.
LuciTir(Tirzepatide) can also be used to reduce excess body weight in adults with overweight or obesity and to maintain weight loss over the long term.
LuciTir(Tirzepatide) is administered by subcutaneous injection once weekly.
The recommended starting dose is 2.5 mg once weekly for 4 weeks;
After 4 weeks, the dose is increased to 5 mg once weekly.
Thereafter, based on the patient's treatment response and tolerability, the dose may be gradually adjusted in increments of 2.5 mg at intervals of at least 4 weeks, up to a maximum recommended dose of 15 mg once weekly.
Lucius provides this drug in multiple strengths of prefilled injection pens, including 2.5 mg, 5 mg, 7.5 mg, 10 mg, 12.5 mg, and 15 mg, making it convenient for patients to self-inject at home.
The most common adverse reactions of LuciTir(Tirzepatide) are mainly gastrointestinal symptoms, including nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal pain, dyspepsia, etc. Injection site reactions, fatigue, allergic reactions, eructation, hair loss, and gastroesophageal reflux disease may also occur. Clinical data show that the incidence of nausea with LuciTir(Tirzepatide) is approximately 17%–22%, and most patients experience only mild to moderate discomfort.
Special reminder: LuciTir(Tirzepatide) can cause thyroid C-cell tumors in rats. It is not yet known whether the drug causes thyroid C-cell tumors in humans, including medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC). Therefore, patients with a personal or family history of MTC and patients with type 2 multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome (MEN2) are contraindicated for this product-22. Patients should use this drug under the guidance of a professional physician and strictly follow the instructions for dose escalation to reduce the risk of gastrointestinal adverse reactions.
