Special caution is required when using anagrelide, as certain drugs may interact with it.
Do not take this medicine with cisapride, dronedarone, pimozide or thioridazine under any circumstances.
In addition, this medicine may also interact with a variety of other drugs, including aspirin and its analogs, cilostazol, dofetilide, fluvoxamine, as well as inotropic agents (e.g., milrinone, enoximone, amrinone and olprinone). Attention should also be paid to the potential risks of concomitant use with anticoagulants such as warfarin, sucralfate, theophylline and ziprasidone.
It should be noted that the above list does not cover all possible interactions. To ensure medication safety, be sure to provide your healthcare provider with a complete list of all medications you are taking, including prescription drugs, herbal medicines, over-the-counter drugs and dietary supplements. You should also inform them if you smoke, drink alcohol or use illicit drugs, as these factors may also interact with your medications.
Take the medicine to a drug take-back program location. Consult your pharmacy or law enforcement agency to find a designated site.
If drug take-back is not available, check the label or package insert to determine whether the medicine should be discarded in the trash or flushed down the toilet. If you are unsure, consult your medical team. If it is safe to discard in the trash, pour the medicine out of its container. Mix the medicine with cat litter, soil, coffee grounds or other unwanted substances. Seal the mixture in a bag or container, then place it in the garbage bin.
1. Take this medicine orally with water. Administer it at the same time each day in accordance with the instructions on the prescription label. Continue taking it unless your medical team instructs you to stop.
2. For pediatric use of this medicine, consult your medical team. Although this medicine may be prescribed for children aged 7 years and older for specific conditions, caution is still advised.
3. Overdose: If you think you have taken an overdose of this medicine, contact a poison control center or the emergency department immediately.
